In 'IXO™ Season 3', the latest trends and industry responses regarding the Travel Rule were shared. It was noted that the importance of the Travel Rule is growing in the digital asset market, and Korea is leading this trend.
Lee Sung-mi, CEO of CODE, stated in her lecture on 'The New Language of Trust, Travel Rule in the Digital Asset Era' at the global Web3 roadshow 'IXO™ Season 3' held at the Seoul Textile Center on the 25th, that "the Travel Rule based on FATF guidelines is evolving into a 'common language' of the digital asset market, with Korea leading the way".
She explained that "the Travel Rule is a regulation that verifies the identity information of the sender and recipient before asset transfer" and that "the anonymity of digital assets raised concerns about money laundering and terrorist financing, prompting FATF to create regulatory standards".
She added that "unlike bank transfers, digital assets require entering the recipient's name, and the structure that allows wallet creation without KYC procedures is also a risk factor". She warned that "currently, Travel Rule compliance is being mandated globally, and transactions with businesses that do not comply can lead to investor damage".

She noted that "Korea was the first in the world to legislate the FATF guidelines and introduce the Travel Rule" and that "although there was initial confusion, now most investors are familiar with the regulation and have established themselves as a country that set global standards".
She continued, "CODE is the only Travel Rule solution provider established in Korea, and global operators such as Binance, OKX, and Bybit are currently using the service" and emphasized that "the Travel Rule is no longer just a simple regulation, but functions as a common language in the digital asset market, supporting the formation of a trust-based market".
She stated that "the Travel Rule is based on pre-verification, and if the sender and recipient information does not match, the transfer is blocked" and that "it is important for users to accurately enter information such as the recipient's name".
She also urged that "since blockchain does not record who sent it, information input is essential under the user's responsibility" and to "avoid transactions with countries and businesses that do not comply with regulations".
'IXO™ Season 3' is a Web3 conference focused on 'investment practice', held over two days on the 24th and 25th at the Seoul Textile Center. The event was co-hosted by blockchain media TokenPost and CoinLeaders, and co-organized by the decentralized data trust protocol 'OpenLedger'.
IXO™ presents a fundraising concept that goes beyond existing ICO, IEO, and IDO methods, being more Web3-friendly and community-centric. The first event last April attracted over 1,000 participants, opening a new chapter in the Web3 community, and expanded this flow further in Season 2 with the theme 'Embrace the Future'.
The theme of Season 3 is 'Proof of Business'. It is designed as a practical Web3 conference that highlights only projects that have actually proven their actual usability, profitability, and user base, beyond technological vision and marketing.
Domestic and international blockchain experts, DAO operators, practical investors, researchers, and traders will participate, providing effective insights from an investor's perspective. The event is structured as a B2C roadshow with project booths, custody demos, and networking, expected to provide an opportunity for communities and individual investors to meet verified Web3 projects.
