Time Leverage creator Moon Chang-hoon emphasized the possibility of XRP and Bitcoin becoming key assets in the transformation of the global financial order.
At the global Web3 roadshow 'IXO™ Season 3' held at the Seoul Textile Center on the 24th, Time Leverage creator Moon Chang-hoon shared his views on how digital assets centered around XRP and Bitcoin are creating a turning point in the global financial order during his lecture titled "Ripple Big Bang: All Money in the World Goes Through XRP".
First, he emphasized the trend of Bitcoin's integration into the institutional realm.
He stated, "Some states like Texas and Arizona recognize Bitcoin as a store of value" and "International organizations such as the IMF and BIS are also including Bitcoin in their statistics, which indicates a trend of accepting Bitcoin as an asset class".
Emphasizing Bitcoin's high scarcity due to its total issuance of 21 million coins and mining scheduled until 2140, he stressed that "Considering large institutions and listed companies are accumulating Bitcoin long-term, individual investors also need a long-term approach as a means of asset preservation".
He then mentioned that Ripple is gaining attention in the de-dollarization trend by strengthening its institutional status through ISO 20022 and global payment infrastructure integration.
Moon Chang-hoon stated, "XRP was designed not just as a cryptocurrency but as a special-purpose solution for cross-border payments, positioning itself as an infrastructure that can replace SWIFT and is included in the ISO 20022 international financial standard".
He added, "XRP has been included in the Nasdaq Crypto Index, expanding accessibility to traditional financial institutions" and "Expectations are growing with the expansion of the stablecoin market and the potential release of spot ETFs".
Mentioning Ripple's involvement in CBDC-related projects as a core technology provider in wholesale and retail digital currency design, he said, "Lagarde, the ECB president, had a Ripple representative in the fintech advisory group during her IMF days, and long-standing cooperation with IMF and BIS proves XRP's institutional status".
He diagnosed, "With the expansion of BRICS, the dollar-centered petrodollar system is being dismantled" and "XRP functions as a bridge currency between legal tender and is attracting attention as a new key asset in the de-dollarization era". Noting that emerging countries like Saudi Arabia and India are using XRP in oil transactions, he explained, "This is a sign that the BRICS multipolar system is becoming full-fledged".
He also mentioned that XRP is a member of the ISO 20022 registration management group and is prepared to be integrated into the global payment standard replacing SWIFT. He added, "Now, an environment is being created where XRP can be used as a bridge currency in the movement of all currencies".
Finally, he stated, "XRP and Bitcoin are not short-term speculative assets but long-term asset accumulation tools" and "We must maximize the compound effect of digital assets through leverage on time".
