Creator Kang Min-woo of 'Donkkang' predicted that Bitcoin has entered the initial stage of institutionalization and will see a full-scale bull market within 1-3 months after the interest rate cut. He presented increased liquidity, fixed supply, and stablecoin proliferation as key investment grounds.
Creator Kang Min-woo shared his views and outlook on Bitcoin on the theme "Is it okay to buy Bitcoin now?" during the keynote speech at the Global Web3 Roadshow 'IXO™ Season 3' held at the Seoul Fiber Center on the 24th.
He stated, "Bitcoin is no longer a speculative asset, but a long-term asset entering the initial stage of institutionalization" and "I recognized the structural changes in the crypto market since the beginning of this year and started aggressive accumulation." He explained that "A structure where institutional funds enter, similar to MSCI inclusion, is being applied to Bitcoin, and the market direction has become clearer since global major asset managers like Fidelity and BlackRock entered."
Creator Kang Min-woo said, "Bitcoin's issuance is limited to 21 million, with mining scheduled until 2140, maximizing scarcity" and "Some U.S. states recognize Bitcoin as a value storage means, and IMF and BIS are including it in their statistics." He further assessed this as "a signal that institutional acceptance as an asset class is becoming full-scale."
He revealed, "I'm looking at global liquidity, 21 million limited supply, and stablecoin market growth as the three core axes."
He first diagnosed the macroeconomic environment. Kang Min-woo pointed out, "The U.S. debt ratio exceeds 120% of GDP and is no longer a sustainable structure." He added, "Doubts about the existing financial system were raised during the 2008 subprime crisis, and Bitcoin was born in 2009 as an extension of that flow" and "We judge 2025 as the practical first year of institutionalization."
He also shared opinions on Bitcoin's growth potential and network effect. He explained, "Currently, Bitcoin is at one-tenth of gold's market capitalization and is showing a much faster growth rate in the transition to a digital society." He also emphasized, "Like KakaoTalk, the higher the peripheral acceptance of currency, the greater the usage incentive, and Bitcoin has not even been accepted by one-tenth of the total population."
He also warned against market sentiment misunderstanding Bitcoin as a trading asset. He said, "Bitcoin is an investment asset, not a trading target" and "Missing important positions leads to trading concentrated on altcoins due to FOMO, which is a major cause of ruining returns."
Creator Kang Min-woo stated, "Bitcoin's price is not important. It's about the dollar or won becoming cheaper, and a change in perspective is needed."
He also noted that the increase in global money supply shows a high correlation of 0.8 with Bitcoin's rise, analyzing that "Both China and the U.S. are expanding liquidity, and Bitcoin, a fixed-supply asset, cannot help but benefit from this structure."
He also said, "The increase in stablecoin supply also shows a high correlation with Bitcoin's rise rate" and "If daily use begins within the next 3-5 years, the market will grow larger." He also predicted that "If related bills pass in the U.S. Congress, stablecoins are likely to be incorporated into institutional assets."
He also presented his view on the timing of Bitcoin's rise. Creator Kang Min-woo said, "When interest rate cuts are declared, deposit yield expectations decrease, and investors seek aggressive assets" and "Within 1-3 months after the first expected interest rate cut in September, the Bitcoin market may transition to a full-scale bullish trend." He added, "I see that point as the beginning of a bull market and plan to accumulate as aggressively as possible from January to September."
Regarding selling plans, he said, "I'm using the funding rate commonly seen at past peaks as a criterion" and "When Bitcoin's funding rate reaches 0.05-0.3, I plan to take partial profits, judging it as a sign of overheating." He added, "I will carefully observe the market situation around the time of or one month after the interest rate cut" and "Funding rate is a key indicator to gauge market enthusiasm and useful data for timing judgment."
'IXO™ Season 3' is a Web3 conference focused on 'investment practice', held at the Seoul Fiber Center on the 24th and 25th. The event is co-hosted by blockchain media Token Post and Coin Leaders, and co-organized by the decentralized data trust protocol 'OpenLedger'.
IXO™ presents a fundraising concept that goes beyond existing ICO, IEO, and IDO methods, being more Web3-friendly and community-centric. The first event in April last year drew over 1,000 participants, opening a new chapter in the Web3 community, and expanded that flow through Season 2 in July with the theme 'Embrace the Future'.
The theme of Season 3 is 'Proof of Business'. It is planned as a practical Web3 conference that highlights only projects that have actually proven actual usability, profitability, and user base beyond technical vision and marketing.
Domestic and international blockchain experts, DAO operators, practical investors, researchers, and traders will participate, providing effective insights from an investor's perspective. The event is structured as a B2C roadshow with project booths, custody demos, and networking, expected to provide an opportunity to meet verified Web3 projects that communities and individual investors can trust.
