Michael Saylor-led American Bitcoin (BTC) investment company MicroStrategy ($MSTR) announced that it acquired an additional 41,407 BTC in the second quarter of 2025, recording an evaluation gain of approximately 6.1586 trillion won (about $4.4 billion). Saylor shared this news directly through X (formerly Twitter), once again demonstrating his presence in the Bitcoin community.
This profit was achieved during the second quarter, with MicroStrategy generating approximately 7.8% in Bitcoin returns. Previously, he had disclosed the purchase of an additional 4,980 BTC (about 691.1 billion won) just a day before, and his recent cumulative assets now total 597,325 BTC, approaching a value of about 88.5928 trillion won (about $63.6 billion).
Since the beginning of this year, MicroStrategy has recorded a 19.7% Bitcoin return, which is analyzed as a result of not just price increases but also an aggressive buying strategy. Saylor has been consistently purchasing BTC in large quantities over the past few months, including a massive investment of 10,100 BTC (about 1.4039 trillion won).
Meanwhile, another Bitcoin investment company Metaplanet, headquartered in Japan, has also continued its weekly purchase strategy, newly acquiring 1,005 BTC (about 140.6 billion won). Currently, Metaplanet holds a total of 13,350 BTC and aims to secure 210,000 BTC by 2027. The company is also utilizing a strategy similar to Saylor's by issuing securities to raise funds.
As Bitcoin prices fluctuate near their peak, these two companies are sending a clear signal to the market by choosing BTC as a long-term asset defense mechanism rather than short-term profits. Especially with the possibility of Trump's re-election being discussed and expectations of crypto-friendly policies growing, the massive capital inflow proves that Bitcoin's status as a major investment asset is becoming even more solid.
