"AI must not become a black box. DePIN will be the key infrastructure to enhance AI's transparency and reliability."
At the global Web3 roadshow 'IXO™ Season 3' held at the Seoul Textile Center on the 25th, a panel discussion was held on the topic of 'How Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks (DePIN) are changing our lives', discussing the changes brought by DePIN and strategies for responding to global regulatory changes.
The discussion was moderated by Jayne Kim, Senior Business Development Manager at IoTeX, with panelists including Jeong-hyun Cho, CEO of ZetaCube, and Tahir, co-founder and CTO of KRNL Labs.
The moderator's first question was about the advantages and limitations of DePIN-based AI infrastructure compared to centralized cloud AI infrastructure, and the key elements of securing security.
Jeong-hyun Cho, CEO of ZetaCube, said, "Decentralized technology has naturally emerged in response to market demands, and the era of entrusting data to a centralized structure is passing." He added, "Ultimately, it is much more secure, but there are still many hurdles that need to be overcome, and today's discussion is necessary to address those issues." He further stated, "It is dangerous for a single company to own and control the entire data center. Decentralization is the practical alternative."
Tahir, the CTO, emphasized, "The core of DePIN is that it does not physically exist in one place, and all network participants operate autonomously." He stressed that "This is a way to realize the decentralization, resilience, and autonomy pursued by Web3, which is fundamentally different from centralized services."

The moderator then asked the participants about the technologies and conditions needed to build a sustainable revenue model that provides stable compensation.
Tahir, the CTO, said, "The key to DePIN projects is token utility" and "IoT devices should transmit data, and that data should be tokenized and lead to revenue." He believed that the project can succeed only when revenue and data value are connected.
He added, "In Web3 projects, the team token proportion is typically 15-20%, and today's tokenomics composition of ZetaCube was impressive." CEO Cho believed that "More projects that overcome technical barriers are needed." He explained, "In the DePIN domain, Web3 also requires high technical capabilities and time to actually commercialize" and that "Since physical infrastructure is directly built, the cost and difficulty are high, so thorough preparation is necessary."

Ensuring the transparency and reliability of AI infrastructure also emerged as an important topic.
Tahir, the CTO, said, "Most AI today is like a black box, with unclear data sources and learning processes" and "Global regulations such as the EU AI Act, ISO 42001, and NIST specify that AI should no longer be a black box."
He emphasized, "KRNL Labs and ZetaCube are developing technologies to 'fingerprint' devices and data, enabling tracking of the entire flow from data generation to utilization."
CEO Cho added, "If AI weight files are tampered with, bias can occur" and "Through DePIN, the method of using high-end equipment more cheaply based on blockchain and increasing transparency should become mainstream." He further stated, "AI must be decentralized to ensure reliability."

Regulatory response strategies in the global expansion of DePIN were also discussed.
CEO Cho said, "We should not just try to avoid regulations, but secure licenses appropriate to the project scale and prepare proactively" and "Preemptively responding to global regulations like the EU AI Act will actually be an opportunity."
Tahir, the CTO, stated, "Since Korea follows strong regulations, developing technologies and solutions that meet European standards will be competitive in the Korean market" and "The nano data centers and one-stop DePIN solutions being prepared by KRNL Labs and ZetaCube can spread quickly in the global market."
When asked how DePIN is solving real-world problems, CEO Cho emphasized, "The AI bias problem starts with how data is collected and verified" and "As AI is being integrated into various industries, DePIN will be the key infrastructure to enhance reliability."
He added that "ZetaCube will secure transparency at every stage of data generation and utilization through DePIN infrastructure and make high-end equipment blockchain-based and accessible to everyone."
'IXO™ Season 3' is a Web3 conference focused on 'investment in practice', held over two days on the 24th and 25th at the Seoul Textile Center. It was jointly hosted by blockchain media TokenPost and CoinLeaders, and co-organized by the decentralized data trust protocol 'Openledger'.
IXO™ presents a fundraising concept that goes beyond existing ICO, IEO, and IDO methods, making it more Web3-friendly and community-centric. The first event in April last year drew over 1,000 participants, opening a new chapter in the Web3 community, and further expanded this trend in Season 2 in July with the theme 'Embrace the Future'.
The theme of this Season 3 is 'Proof of Business'. It was planned as a practical Web3 conference that highlights only projects that have actually proven their real-world usability, profitability, and user base, beyond technological vision and marketing.
Blockchain experts from home and abroad, DAO operators, practical investors, researchers, traders, etc., will participate to provide effective insights from an investor's perspective. The project will be composed of project booths, custody demos, and networking as a practical B2C roadshow, expected to provide an opportunity for communities and individual investors to meet verified Web3 projects they can trust.
