AI Computing Combined POW Model Gains Attention as New Web3 Infrastructure Trend. XPHERE is Designing a GPU-Based Dual Chain Structure Aimed at Building Decentralized AI Computing Infrastructure.
Kim Dae-hyun, XPHERE's Chief Technology Officer, delivered a keynote speech on 'Evolution of Proof of Work: Web3 Infrastructure Investment Expanding with AI Computing' at the Global Web3 Roadshow 'IXO™ Season 3' held at the Seoul Fiber Center on the 24th, stating "We will redefine mining with a next-generation POW model combining AI computing".
XPHERE's CTO emphasized that "While existing POW (Proof of Work) is perceived as a dead technology, it still holds strong value in terms of security, incentive structure, and economic efficiency". He further introduced that "XPHERE is building a next-generation network combining POW philosophy with AI computing".
He cited reasons for POW adoption as "historically proven security worth billions of dollars, incentive structure based on participant contributions, and autonomous economic feasibility through network difficulty adjustment". He explained that "XPHERE is designing a practical reward system by separating proof chain and main chain through a dual chain structure".
He also shared the current status of mining infrastructure. He mentioned "Collaborating with the world's largest mining equipment manufacturer Bitmain and major mining pool Antpool to secure hash rate and review dedicated equipment", adding "Official announcement is planned by the end of this year".
While existing POW mining focused on hash computation, XPHERE is designing a new POW model evolved with AI computing, emphasizing "We will design AI computing results in a provable format, transitioning to a structure where participants receive rewards based on AI computing performance".
He also introduced the strategy for combining AI and blockchain. He diagnosed that "In the AI era, explosive computing demand is occurring, and a GPU-based decentralized computing structure is necessary". He further stated "XPHERE plans to store AI data and computation results within the blockchain network and connect them through a POW structure using GPU computation".
He stressed "We are redesigning the definition of mining" and "Expanding from simple hash computation to advanced AI computation, creating a structure where miners' computing power is utilized for useful AI computation". He added "The mining market connected with AI is actually opening up, and XPHERE will provide new opportunities for miners".
'IXO™ Season 3' is a Web3 conference focused on 'Investment Practice', held over two days on the 24th and 25th at the Seoul Fiber Center. The event is co-hosted by blockchain media Token Post and Coin Leaders, and co-organized by decentralized data trust protocol 'Openledger'.
