Alarmed to see this level of ignorance in the top echelons of government. It is illegal to deploy the military/ marines on US soil. This is to avert the risk of a military coup or an authoritarian regime. If this were to happen, Trump would've crossed the Rubicon, i.e.; the end of the Republic.

It's one thing for a sitting president to deploy the National Guard, against the will of a state governor. It would be quite another to deploy the marines/ military. That would be to.... cross the Rubicon😒

Trump states protestors are not allowed to wear masks while ICE and federal agents are wearing masks. The main reason that protestors are wearing masks is to protect against tear gas. Of course, you'd have to be a hard-liner not to think that people have a right to protest/ resist. The question that should be asked is whether that resistance is justified by conditions on the ground.

So is this the answer to everything now, taking a leaf out of the Israeli playbook and using overwhelming force to confront any and all resistance? Why not de-escalate and do things by the book... by the law I mean? What happened to the president of peace?
