CoinGecko releases 2025 Q2 crypto industry report: Total crypto market value rebounds 24.0%

CoinGecko released the Q2 2025 Crypto Industry Report, with data showing that the total cryptocurrency market capitalization rebounded by 24.0% in the second quarter of 2025, reaching $3.5 trillion, close to the year-to-date high. Bitcoin hit a new high this quarter, with its share of the total cryptocurrency market capitalization rising to 62.1%. Despite the market rebound, spot trading volume on centralized exchanges decreased by 27.7% quarter-on-quarter to $3.9 trillion in Q2 2025. In contrast, spot trading volume on decentralized exchanges grew by 25.3% quarter-on-quarter, setting a new historical high for DEX:CEX spot trading volume. In Q2 2025, perpetual contract trading volume on decentralized exchanges also reached a historical high of $89.8 billion.
