Binance CEO Richard Teng Arrives in Ho Chi Minh City, Promoting Legal Dialogue on Digital Assets in Vietnam
On the morning of July 15, 2025, Richard Teng – the current CEO of Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange – arrived in Ho Chi Minh City to attend a conference on the legal framework for crypto assets, held at the Labor Newspaper headquarters. This is Teng's first visit to Vietnam in his role as Binance CEO, following the notable visit of founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) in 2022.
Teng's business trip to Vietnam came immediately after his presence in Taiwan to participate in a digital asset forum. His continuous presence in Asian countries demonstrates Binance's strategy to promote regional cooperation and shape the global legal framework, especially as governments are increasingly focusing on developing clear legal guidelines for the blockchain and digital asset sector.
Richard Teng officially assumed the role of Binance CEO in November 2023, after CZ stepped down as part of legal agreements in the United States. With over 30 years of experience in finance and legal fields, Teng has held several important positions such as Executive Director of the Financial Services Regulatory Authority at Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), Regulation Director at Singapore Exchange (SGX), and Corporate Financial Director at the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Before joining Binance in August 2021, he was recognized as a leading expert in financial regulation and blockchain technology.
