Musk is really breaking down.
Less than 5 days after leaving the Government Efficiency Department (Doge) from the Trump administration, he has already started to heavily criticize the "The One, Big, Beautiful Bill" that has passed the House of Representatives on X.
"I'm sorry, but I can no longer tolerate this. This massive, ridiculous, pork-filled congressional spending bill is utterly disgusting."
"Those who voted for it are shameless, and you know you're wrong, you know it!"
"This will significantly increase the already massive budget deficit by $2.5 trillion (!!!!) and impose an unbearable debt burden on American citizens."
Congress is driving the United States to bankruptcy!
To express his anger, Musk also listed the rapidly expanding budget deficit of the United States since 2001.
In fact, as early as May 27th a week ago, Musk had already expressed extreme disappointment with the House-passed bill during a CBS interview:
"Frankly, I am disappointed with this massive spending bill, which not only fails to reduce the budget deficit but further increases it and undermines the work being done by the Government Efficiency Department team."
Regarding this "The One, Big, Beautiful Bill", I had already severely criticized its shamelessness in the previous article If we continue like this, it will definitely collapse , and on May 22nd, the bill passed the House of Representatives and is about to be submitted to the Senate. Today, I will detail its main contents.
1. Individual Tax Deductions
Continuing the individual tax deductions from the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), raising the standard deduction to $32,000 for joint filing (2025-2028) and $16,000 for individuals; increasing child tax credit from $2,000 to $2,500 per child, but only for families where both parents are US citizens; exempting tips and overtime pay for service workers until the end of 2028, not applicable to high-income earners (annual salary over $20,000); additional tax relief for seniors: taxpayers over 60 can deduct an additional $4,000.
2. Establishing MAGA Accounts for Newborns
Establishing "Growth and Progress Funding Accounts" (MAGA accounts) for newborns from 2025-2028, with a government-provided $1,000 startup fund, parents can tax-free deposit $5,000 annually for education or entrepreneurship.
3. Real Estate Tax Deductions
Raising the SALT deduction cap from $10,000 to $30,000, with deduction reduction for families earning over $40,000, maintaining mortgage interest deduction policy.
4. Taxation on Non-Citizen Remittances
Imposing a 5% tax on remittances by non-US citizens (such as H-1B visa holders, international students);
5. Canceling Clean Energy Subsidies
Abolishing electric vehicle purchase tax credits ($7,500) and solar subsidies from the Biden administration's green energy incentive measures
6. Reducing Social Welfare and Medicaid Reform
Requiring childless adults to work at least 80 hours per month to retain eligibility, expected to cut $1.5 trillion in spending, potentially causing 8.7 million people to lose health insurance, eliminating some food stamps and low-income family subsidies.
7. Debt Ceiling Increase
Raising the federal debt ceiling by $4 trillion to support tax cuts and increased defense spending.
8. Immigration and Defense Spending
Allocating $46.5 billion to build the US-Mexico border wall, increasing the defense budget by $150 billion.
(The translation continues in the same manner for the rest of the text)All tax cuts in the bill will be implemented immediately, while all spending cuts (healthcare and welfare) will be widely implemented starting from 2028 (after Trump's term) - which is equivalent to a heavily indebted scoundrel first spending an additional 4 trillion dollars, and then saying he will start saving expenses in 4 years, expecting to save 1.5 trillion dollars.
Trump is using this extremely shameless "pork barrel" politics to buy votes from voters and Republican lawmakers in both houses, and at the expense of the country's future interests, he is buying loyalty to himself.
Facing his political ideal of "saving government spending", Musk clearly recognizes that he has been played like a fool by Trump before, but he still plans to use his influence to influence more people to oppose this bill.
On June 4th US time, Musk began calling on American citizens to contact their legislators to kill the bill, and he posted a "Kill Bill" image on X, also claiming,
"It's wrong to bankrupt America".
Furthermore, Musk reposted a proposal drafted by Senator Mike Lee on X - if the US fiscal deficit exceeds 3%, all congressional members should be collectively dismissed, and also reposted Mario Nawfal's post, claiming the Beautiful America Act should be renamed the "Ugly America Act".
By the way, actually, I had already determined months ago that Musk and Trump are not on the same path and cannot continue to cooperate.
How did Musk get involved with Trump?
