Hello everyone, I am Joanna, co-founder and CEO of SOON.
Today we announced our launch on Binance Alpha. As the Airdrop approaches, looking back on our journey and those who have accompanied and supported us, I want to dedicate this letter to the earliest angel investors who believed in us, the Cobuilders, every engineer who built the underlying technology, every holder who Minted Non-Fungible Tokens with belief, every builder developing products on SOON, and the vast Red Pill participants and community who have continuously supported us. What you are receiving is not just a token Airdrop, but my most heartfelt gratitude.
LiveTrade —— Why We Chose to Do simpfor.fun, Choose Live Streaming for Customer Acquisition, and a High-Performance SVM Chain
SOON's latest product is not a technical update or infrastructure, but a copy trading tool simpfor.fun (V2 version will go online this week), because trading has always been the core of Web3, and copy trading is the fastest way for ordinary users to touch this core. Instead of requiring new users to study complex information in Discord groups or learn how to make contract trades, we let them one-click copy trades of top on-chain addresses. This simple action almost completely eliminates cognitive barriers and directly presents the community's most concerned profit and loss data intuitively. This is something only the high transparency of blockchain can achieve.
At the same time, we keenly recognize the huge potential of RWA. At this week's Solana Accelerate conference, we will see more and more institutions issuing assets on-chain, besides Circle's dollar and Blackrock's stocks, we see gold on Hyperliquid, and in the future, Drift and more projects will bring stocks to the blockchain, and the market for copy trading tools for these RWA assets will be larger.
Different from current tools, we proposed the LiveTrade concept, and simpfor.fun V2 will seamlessly integrate simpfor.fun into live streaming scenarios. Compared to scattered social media and shallow short videos, live streaming naturally has a true sense of connection, higher user stickiness, and community cohesion.
For example, a live streaming user can enter simpfor.fun to copy trade smart money addresses through a plugin on Twitch or SOOP while watching the stream. Any type of streamer can obtain 80% commission by introducing simpfor.fun, even without any trading experience, they can help their live streaming audience make money, which is the lowest threshold monetization channel that can directly change the current live streaming industry landscape. Therefore, LiveTrade was born, turning live streaming into the best entry point from Web2 to Web3, creating a super channel for users to enter Web3.
Performance is the most important aspect of on-chain copy trading, and all of this depends on a high-performance chain. Any high-performance blockchain infrastructure needs copy trading products to allow ordinary users to participate in high-frequency trading. Especially for real-world massive trading assets like gold and stocks, if hoping to replicate exchange-level high-frequency strategies, millisecond confirmation speed and horizontal scalability are not just nice-to-have, but a high-performance chain becomes an inevitable choice. SOON's high-performance infrastructure ensures that asset trading speed and efficiency can match the traditional financial system.
Huge Internal Team Disagreements Achieved Our Greatest Breakthrough
Looking back from SOON's early establishment to now, what we never said was that the team had huge internal disagreements about whether to make technology more secure or more community-priority. From CTO Andrew's perspective, he strongly recommended first building a completely decoupled SVM to ensure SOON's Rollup could have fault proof to be secure enough to avoid bridge hacker incidents, which other SVM projects have not done. But as CEO, I deeply felt that SOON must be community-driven, not VC-dependent, which meant we must quickly deliver products truly valuable to the community, even if it meant slightly sacrificing technical or security perfection in the early stages.
This fundamental conflict could have torn us apart, but ultimately made our team more solid. Through our team's joint efforts, we found an excellent balance. Decoupled SVM, though three months later than forking SVM, indeed achieved extremely high performance while implementing very high security, reconstructed the L2 derivation mechanism, supported horizontal expansion, and integrated Firedancer.
At the same time, we launched InterSOON and RedPill, Comming SOON Non-Fungible Token, BigBang, forming a powerful community. After launching svmBNB and soonBase mainnet, and five SVM chains for other projects, our infrastructure team further developed a more user-facing Simpfor.fun. Our community is unbreakable, but unlike Movement and other projects with only community and no delivery, our community activities are built on solid products. We saw the power of products and community during TGE of Uniswap, Arbitrum, and other projects, believed this was the future, entered this industry, and saw Solana overcome difficulties through products and community. Although we saw many projects like Movement issue tokens with supposed communities but lacking products this year, ultimately there will be problems. We will continue to iterate, especially in the LiveTrade era, where Simpforfun's live streaming copy trading to high-performance chains is the ultimate blockchain user path.
We could achieve these accomplishments through the participation of all community contributors. Thanks to our team for always balancing technical security and providing better products for the community. Especially the post-00s Dev Rel and many Marketing team members, through them I learned a lot of knowledge. Continuous learning and continuous building can only be felt in the Solana community. Thank you CZ, Toly, Jesse for supporting us on Twitter.
Thanks to Lily, Adam, Yaoyao and other Solana/Solar/Superteam members, Jed, Max, Rex, Joe and other Solana Labs/Anza members, Mustafa@Celestia, Victor@Manta Network, Sreeram@Eigenlayer, Jay @Four Pillers, Shiv@Boundless, Chloe@Carv and other co-contributors who helped us from early stages to now.
