On May 14, the Ethereum Foundation officially announced an initiative called the "Trillion-Dollar Security Plan", aimed at comprehensively enhancing security for the Ethereum ecosystem and promoting the global transition to using Ethereum blockchain.
This is a large-scale strategic plan targeting the upgrade of Ethereum's security foundation, implemented across all layers of the ecosystem. The plan includes three key focus areas: creating a comprehensive security map, focusing on resolving critical system vulnerabilities, and raising security awareness for the Ethereum development community and the blockchain ecosystem in general.
Co-chaired by Fredrik Svantes – Head of Protocol Security – and Josh Stark – Ethereum Foundation management member, this plan brings together top blockchain security experts. These include samczsun – founder of the SEAL Security Alliance and security advisor at Paradigm, Mehdi Zerouali – co-founder of Sigma Prime, and Zach Obront – co-founder of Etherealize, all participating as strategic advisors.
With the potential to impact thousands of billions of dollars in assets stored and operated on the Ethereum network, this plan is considered an important step in ensuring the safety and stability of the world's second-largest blockchain platform. This is also a strong affirmation from the Ethereum Foundation about its commitment to protecting users, developers, and decentralized applications operating on Ethereum, especially in the context of increasingly sophisticated and complex cybersecurity attacks.
