The Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) recently announced a temporary revocation of the Electronic System Operator Registration Certificate (TDPSE) related to Worldcoin and WorldID services. This decision was made after authorities conducted a preliminary investigation and discovered signs of violations of Indonesia's current electronic system regulations.
Specifically, the investigation revealed that PT. Terang Bulan Abadi - the company allegedly operating these services - had not been registered as an electronic system operator (PSE) according to Indonesian law, and also lacked the necessary TDPSE certification to implement operations. Moreover, the Worldcoin-related services were found to be using the registration license of another legal entity, PT. Sandina Abadi Nusantara, which raised suspicions about improper license usage.
The Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Digital affirmed that they will continue to investigate the matter and plan to summon representatives from both companies to clarify the violations and implement appropriate legal measures. This move demonstrates the Indonesian government's seriousness in monitoring digital technology activities and ensuring international service platforms like Worldcoin comply with local legal procedures.
