Odaily reported that Bybit co-founder and CEO Ben Zhou posted on platform X that they have detected hackers attempting to transfer BTC through Chainflip. The cross-chain bridge project is expected to help Bybit stop and prevent further asset transfers to other chains. Bybit will soon release a bounty program for anyone who helps stop or track down the funds that led to the recovery of the funds.

Odaily reported that ZachXBT posted on his personal channel stating: "The Lazarus Group involved in the Bybit incident transferred 5000 ETH to a new address and laundered the funds through eXch (a centralized mixer), and then bridged the funds to Bitcoin via Chainflip. The transfer of 5000 ETH occurred on February 22, 2025 at 6:28:23 AM, with the TXN being 0xbf80907830e46317da2c1708a13a9f016e242f8a6db6e6b0706ea5f2328cb001; the final Bitcoin address through Chainflip is bc1qlu4a33zjspefa3tnq566xszcr0fvwz05ewhqfq."

Odaily reported that Bybit co-founder and CEO Ben Zhou recently posted on platform X, stating: "We will transfer 2.95 billion USDT from cold wallets to hot wallets, which is a planned operation for your reference. We were not hacked this time."

In the early morning of February 22nd, on-chain detective Zachxbt monitored suspicious fund outflows from Bybit. Subsequent on-chain records show that a Bybit multi-signature address transferred ETH worth $1.5 billion and used a DEX to convert LSD assets into native ETH. Possibly affected by FUD sentiment, Ethereum briefly fell below $2,700, and Bybit's native platform token MNT briefly fell below $0.9, a 24-hour drop of 7.71%.
