On February 18, Binance Customer Support officially responded to the controversy surrounding the community voting related to Pi Network (PI), emphasizing that votes from users in certain regions will not be counted in the valid results.
According to the simplified Chinese announcement from Binance about the "Binance Community Voting" event, users residing in certain countries or regions such as Mainland China will not have their votes counted in the valid voting results. Binance stated that after the event ends, the platform will exclude votes from users who do not meet the conditions, including:
- Users from regions not covered by the program.
- Votes that violate Binance's terms and conditions.
After reviewing and removing the invalid votes, Binance will publish the final number of valid votes. However, the platform also noted that the voting results are for reference only, and not a decisive factor in the listing of PI on Binance. The final decision will be based on the official review process and the exchange's evaluation criteria.
Previously, on February 17, Binance launched a community vote with the question: "Should PI be listed on Binance?". Participants had to verify their accounts and maintain a minimum balance of $5 USD throughout the voting period. Each user could only vote once, and the results would be updated daily on Binance's official channels.
